Advises and frienship

How could a human being be more simple than Robert Chouraqui?
With such a background? None I guess. Famous and recognized Robert is nevertheless human, fun, friendly.

I was amazed to meet him for the first time and today I consider him as a friend. Not much time has passed since then.

Did you try that?
"A well of photo-science "

If you talk to someone who has been in the field for so many years, you will have the feeling that the world is small, very small. A photographer who has reached the level of Robert Chouraqui knows the technique of course. But obviously, his life is not about technique; it's about People.

Dave Naz, Peter Hegre, Eric Kroll and more.

The biggest collection ever?

I tend to collect books. (If you had not a chance to do so, stop by the Book page before you leave). Actually, that's what i was looking at first when I contacted him. I wanted to buy his books!

But Robert is a gentleman. Before you talk business, you just share a glass of wine around a bowl of crackers and you talk. "Oh you like books?" he said. "I have plenty of books!".

He took one off the shelf, one of his-ones. Extraordinary. Then a second. Wonderful. Then a third and so on... In most of them pictures were shot by him. We spoke about the process of getting public, being published, paid not paid... The collection was endless and each book was calling for a new question. He answered all of them.

I never saw so many fetish books in my life at the same place at the same time. Oh yes, I am a faithful visitor of La Musardine. I know you can find some nice things there. But if you have a chance to count the number of photo books in this shop, triple it and you will get a number closer to what Robert keeps on his shelf!

Of course it's not everyday's book that awaits you in this personal library, but the rare, the original, the incredible.
Robert offered to me the opportunity to hold "Les limbes de l'Ange" in my hands and read it...

"Gilles Berquet?... Oh... yes, I know him."
Thank you for making me dreaming Robert!
